    What a 2 weeks!

The past 2 weeks have been eventful and stressing to say the least. Last Monday we confronted our #1 and brought her back home. She was in a bad situation. I got to RROOAAR a little! I can be a touch intimidating at times. Today, she said her boyfriend broke up with her. HALLELUJAH!!!  This will probably hit me better tomorrow.

Next on the agenda was my mom and her digestive issue. She was unable to eat anything without it making her throw up for about a month. The doc ran a few more tests and still found nothing. She couldn't even drink anything at one point. The docs did some laparascopic surgery and discovered a diseased appendix. They also found the upper lower intestine completely blocked. After removing the appendix and a milk/molasses power cleanse, my mom is better. On the other hand, the next day my MIL had a mastectomy on her right side. She was diagnosed with BC a short time ago. The doc has since said stage 3 BC. 17 lymph nodes were affected. Chemo is next. That situation doesn't look good.

Friday finally saw my bank officially announce some of it's intentions regarding the merger. Now we can go forward with our work plans. Much to do with that issue. Fortunately, that will probably not be dealt with til next week. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Saturday was the zoo. The new baby giraffe was in form and looked happy. It was running around really well. The heat was not fun, but I am in better shape than last summer so it didn't zap my energy as bad as it could have been. Even pushing two toddlers up a hill wasn't that bad. My SIL was in town from bama and she has a tot that likes to ride. I knew those lunch walks were good for something other than burning off extra mental energy.

Sunday the dance team leader from church invited our family to her b-day party at the skating rink. Yea, I did get out on the floor with rollerskates for the first time. It was a sad sight. The skates were size 14. It was like wearing 2 small skateboards on my feet!! My kids got a good laugh. Spousey couldn't get out on the floor because she didn't want to risk a fall and cause problems with #10. I don't blame her. With all the crazy blood pressure and liver issues she had before, she needs to take it easy. The milk thistle and dandelion are working good. I also was grateful as she is a much better skater than I and it would look bad for me! It's bad enough my 5-yr old skates past me.

The last 3 days, I've been sick with a sore and scratchy throat and headaches. I don't get many pounding headaches, but today was a rare one. Cough, cough, sniff, blah!

I still haven't decided if Thrive, Go, or In The Hands Of God is the best Newsboys project. Two more weeks to the big 20! Our babysitter for the weekend has backed out (not really a surprise). My Soul To Keep by Davis Bunn has been a fun book to read so far. I should finish it next week. One more work day to go. B.

    Ho hum.

A nice baked salmon dinner is always welcome in my books. To feed my family it takes two pounds, but it was worth it. I don't get salmon as much as I would like, but that's ok, If I had it all the time it may not be so special. It was part of my Father's day meal. Yummy!

Looking forward to the coming week at work. I don't know why though. Maybe it's the fish?

Gotta go through my books in our library and get them in order. We have over a thousand Christian fiction books. Most are my wife's, but I do have a few myself. Gotta finish getting the reading room in order. I wish my wife would let me get rid of some of the non-library books in it, but it's like dying the gray out of my hair--I can't.

Spousey and I are going to get plans together for a few days in Gatlinburg to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The biggest part is the accommodations. I would like a cabin for two nights. Also have to make sure our vehicle is running properly. I've looked into Chattanooga, too. Our first date was to Gatlinburg so that would be my number one choice. #9 will just have to do without mommy for a few days. He will be a few days short of a year at that time. Seems like he just got here. Tooth number 5 is coming in now finally.

My Rangers didn't fair well in SF. On to AZ. Gotta run now. B.

  • 2 days in a row

My first official review at work went well. Thanks be to God, I finally obeyed His voice about maintaining a good attitude at work over the last few years. I wish I would have obeyed 15 years ago! My supervisor is pleased with the quality of my work and my attitude. It was a good 56 minute conversation. I really got a kick out of the term "Kristen's Kindercare".

It's going to be hot the next few days. I hope the folks who enjoy the heat will appreciate it. Like last year, I'm not going to complain even though I prefer colder weather. Atleast I have air conditioning. At home, I can always run around naked! jk That kind of thinking has led to 10 kids!  Spousey got to hear a nice strong heartbeat today from our #10. 160 bpm. She was very pleased. So am I. #9 is climbing small things now. He also likes music. He does his little 11 month old dance. The folks at work will be surprised. I have not said anything yet about #10. I might wait til mid-October to say something. I really don't like being asked EVERY day how my wife is doing. If something goes wrong, I'll say something. We plan on no complications like we had with #9. Another nice simple homebirth is the plan just like we have had 7 other times. My catcher's mitt is ready to go. Piece of cake. It's been funny listening to others in my area talking to my last traineette who is pregnant. She is a first time mom. I try not to laugh at them but sometimes they catch me snickering.

Started reading My Soul To Keep by Davis Bunn during lunch. So far so good. I have had a hard time putting it down when my lunch is over.

The Angels are too close to my Rangers. My Rangers need a nice 15 game win streak!  On to Friday... B.

    Almost Summer

No crazy toe pains today! Don't ask.

#9 is walking now. #10 is on the way. We are believing for a girl. We have had a girl's name picked out for 5 years now and all we've been given by God are boys.

I don't watch much TV, but Netflix has made it possible to watch many episodes of NCIS. After CSI:Miami, it's my 2nd favorite crime scene show. There are a few people I'd like to slap on the back of the head. If I did that at work, I wouldn't have to worry much about brain damage cause many of them don't have one. Work is progressing fine. I'm starting to notice the routine is boring me a little. When the boredom begins, the focus goes out the window. Atleast I've figured out a way to listen to my MP3 player while working. The music is very helpful. Work in general is going well. The problem I was dealing with before has tapered off considerably. The bus rides can still be an adventure at times, however. Many of my counterparts at the bank we bought will be losing their jobs over the next year. It is a shame I can't get rid of a couple of my folks and get some of them. Gotta get a new work-only laptop so I can work from home easier.

I think I've gotten my MercyMe library completed for now. My Newsong library is mostly complete too. I'm working on the Newsboys and Steven Curtis Chapman too. Amazon is a really good place to order music.

Gotta fix my broke down vehicles. Gotta stop procrastinating. Procrastinating is a vice I don't like in myself. Choir has been canceled for the summer. Hopefully, they will make practice some other day than Wednesday after service.

My Rangers are still in first place!! I have not said much here or at work because I'm not used to them winning. I'd feel alot better if they were 10 games ahead of LAA. Later. B.

  • Back again.

Two months since my last post. I have settled well into my new supervisor roll. A few more tweaks here and there and I'll be able to cruise a little. Looking forward to seeing how the merger unfolds over the next few weeks. Alot of important issues to be dealt with in my dept.

Family vacation to the Cincy area was great-except for the hotel. Kings Island was fun. we allowed the kids to split up a little from spousy and I from time to time and they did great. The Racer was fun as always. I enjoyed the blue racer over the red. The red seemed rougher. My Beast rides were interesting. The first one was the best. A couple of the trim brakes they put on the ride to smooth it out were actually off. The ride was just as smooth as when they were on. The Scrambler had a new whipping action to it when I rode it. #2 of 9 said it was new as it is her favorite ride and she has ridden it 3000 times. She also rode a rollercoaster-which she never does. She actually enjoyed Adventure Express many times. Tried to bribe her onto the Racer, but she wouldn't go. The good part about this trip to KI was that my wife was not pregnant and could go on some of the rides with the kids. I did not have to go on all the rides so my body didn't get all beat up. My wife went on Diamondback with two of the kids and enjoyed it. She did not enjoy Firehawk. She said it was kinda blah. When we went to the Creation Museum, I attended the lecture on the physiology of the crucifixion. Very well presented and informative. The Newport Aquarium's frog area was open this year and was fun. One of my favorite exhibits--the jellyfish were under going renovation.

The timer on my lasagna is beeping. Time for lunch. B.
